Object to the tax bill (reclamação graciosa) — Portuguese letter template

Use this if you think your tax bill is wrong. You can usually send it within 120 days after the end of the payment deadline — the easiest way is online in the Portal das Finanças (e-balcão). Objecting doesn’t pause the payment unless you give a guarantee.

I object to the tax bill [number]. Reason: [your reason]. I ask you to correct it and confirm that you received my complaint.
