Letters you may get

• Faktura — your bill
• Faktura rozliczeniowa — the bill after a meter reading
• Wezwanie do zapłaty — an unpaid bill
• Zawiadomienie o wstrzymaniu dostaw — they plan to cut off supply

What to do

• If you can’t pay, call them early and ask for a payment plan. They must warn you in writing before they cut off supply.
• Send them meter readings regularly, so your bills are based on what you really use.
• Find the deadline. Look for “termin”, “do dnia”, “od dnia doręczenia”.
• Write the reference number from the letter on everything you send back, and keep copies.
• If you disagree with a decision, object in writing before the deadline (“odwołanie”, “zażalenie”, “sprzeciw”, “skarga”, “reklamacja”). See the template.
